Musical History

​

Hi! My name is Dani Heggie, I have been playing bass and guitar since 2006 and picked up ukulele shortly after in 2009. I studied music academically for 7 years including the earning of my bachelor degree with honours in music. I have also performed in many bands, across many styles and genres since 2011 and have since toured across Scotland and England.

I have been teaching since 2015 including a 6 month teaching placement at Auchmuty High School. I went in to private tuition because I wanted to have the freedom to tailor lessons to student's individual learning paces and musical interests.

 

I was fortunate enough to be taken on as an instrumental tutor at Red Rock Music in Arbroath from 2018 to 2020. I have since taken up a teaching residence in Abbey Music, also in Arbroath.
In 2018, I also began working with the Y-Music Project in my home town of Glenrothes, providing free tuition to young and budding musicians thanks to funding from the likes of Creative Scotland, Fife Council and more!
As of 2024 I have gone on to take over the full role of Music Project Coordinator at the YMCA Glenrothes, running the project as a whole with of tutors I have brought in to continue this great initiative.

 
I am deeply passionate about music education. Learning an instrument is so much more than just a great hobby, it's also a fantastic means in which to express yourself!

I am currently the guitarist and song writer for metalcore band Oceans On Fire as well as the bass player for the function band Funk & Disorderly!
